Artwork Guidelines

Creating artwork for print production involves several considerations to ensure that the final printed piece meets quality standards. Please note that specific guidelines may change, and it's crucial to refer to the most up-to-date information provided on our website or through direct communication. Here are some general guidelines to follow:

File Format:

Preferred file format is PDF. Ensure that your PDF is high resolution and properly exported for print. We highly recommend using PDF/X-1a format for your ifnal output.

Color Mode:

Always use CMYK colour mode for full-colour printing. Files that include RGB or other colour models are not accepted and will not print properly. Files submitted otherwise are subject to refusal and may be subject to additional fees.

Resolution:

All images should have a resolution of at least 300 dpi (dots per inch) for optimal print quality.

Bleed and Trim Marks:

Include a bleed of at least 0.125 inches (1/8 inch) around all edges.

Add trim marks outside the bleed area to indicate where the final cuts should be made.

Safe Zone:

Keep important text and elements within a safe zone, typically 0.125 inches from the trim edge.

Fonts:

Please ensure to embed all fonts in your PDF file.

Convert fonts to outlines if embedding is not possible.

Text should be no smaller than 6pt and 100% black (K) in order to print clearly.

Black Text and Line Art:

Use 100% black (K) for text and line art to ensure crisp printing.

Rich Black:

For large black areas, use a rich black formula (e.g. C40-M30-Y30-K100) to create a deeper and more solid black.

Transparency:

Flatten or rasterize any transparent elements to avoid unexpected results in printing.

File Size:

Optimize your PDF to ensure a reasonable file size without compromising quality.

Proofing:

Request and carefully review a digital or hard copy proof before finalizing the print job.

File Naming:

We highly recommend using clear and descriptive file names for easy identification.

File Organization:

Keep your files organized and include all linked images or resources.

Upload Specifications:

Follow any specific upload guidelines provided in our online ordering system.
